Obama on abortion:

FOR ME, THE GOAL RIGHT NOW SHOULD BE -- AND THIS IS WHERE I THINK WE CAN FIND COMMON GROUND AND BY THE WAY I HAVE NOW INSERTED THIS INTO THE DEMOCRAT PARTY PLATFORM IS HOW DO WE REDUCE THE NUMBER OF ABORTIONS BECAUSE THE FACT IS THAT ALTHOUGH WE'VE HAD A PRESIDENT WHO IS OPPOSED TO ABORTIONS OVER THE LAST EIGHT YEARS, ABORTIONS HAVE NOT GONE DOWN.

Get your facts straight:
According to the Guttmacher Institute: "In 2005, 1.21 million abortions were performed, down from 1.31 million in 2000."

I DON'T THINK THAT HE WAS A STRONG ENOUGH JURIST OR LEGAL THINKER AT THE TIME FOR THAT ELEVATION. SETTING ASIDE THE FACT THAT I PROFOUNDLY DISAGREE WITH HIS INTERPRETATION OF A LOT OF CONSTITUTION.

Basically, Justice Thomas was too inexperienced at the time of his nomination.

Dear Obama,
Aren't you a first term Senator? The least experienced of ALL major candidates for President in modern history.

Florida Primary

I went to my local voting precinct today at 5 PM and cast a vote for the person I believe to be most capable to lead this country for the next 4-8 years. With 57 delegates up for grabs Florida is a pretty important state. The party leaders have slapped Florida on the wrist by discounting the Democratic delegates completely and cutting the Republican delegates in half. All because we moved our Primary up. Politics, you gotta love 'em.

So you wanna know who I voted for?

Barry Obama (it just sounds better)

Let me preface this rant by saying that I am not endorsing Senator Obama for President. I am a self-proclaimed theologically conservative Christ-follower. I believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Barry Obama (as he is known outside of D.C.) encompasses those 3 things too, just in a different spiritual and political context. Let me explain, if I can. Monday Penny and I saw The Great Debaters. What a great movie! There are critics who would say some of the messages were too liberal. It all depends on how you look at it. I tend to be very understanding and sympathetic of some of the left-leaning politics that are embraced in the movie because of the horrific treatment of black Americans in the past and sadly still today. In the movie, Melvin B. Tolson (played by Denzel Washington) is a professor, who on the side was rallying some crop-sharers to form a union. He was labeled a communist and was roughed up by the sheriff and his men. In the movie, there were rumors and gossip circulating about his “politics” similar to the campaign of Barry Obama. He has been labeled a liberal, left wing, nut and has had gossip/rumor based e-mails sent out about him by some self-proclaimed conservative watch dogs. The two roles of Barry Obama and Denzel’s character are similar. When the general election rolls around in November, it will be interesting to see if the right wing conservative will vote for his or her candidate based on their theological conviction or just vote against the liberal. It’s a shame that we label, gossip and call someone names all in the name of righteousness. I think Christ-followers are above this, don’t you?

2008 Election

Im not a liberal. Not because of my "Evangelical roots" but because I'm conservative. That's my answer. Hilary Clinton, Barak Obama, Mit Romney, Rudy Guilliani and John McCain are not conservative. They all may try to align themselves more toward the center of the American political perspective but none are conservative. There is one potential Presidential candidate that is conservative and his name is Fred Dalton Thompson. The actor, the politician. He's from Tennessee and is a former Senator. Some of his most infamous roles have been in "Law and Order", "The Hunt for Red October", "Days of Thunder" and on and on. Fred is an actor and Fred is 6"7 (as in 6 foot 7 inches tall). Fred has a record of voting against abortion, for 2nd Amendment rights and is very clear about his stance towards terrorism and finishing the war that the enemy has begun. Click here to see his stance on "The Issues". Fred is very good as a communicator and has a very commanding presence. I think Fred would make a good President. Heck, all of the previously mentiioned candidates would make a good President, but Fred is conservative, so he would make a good conservative President. Run, Fred, Run.
