Since we arrived from Russia with our sons it seems like every day we encounter a first for them. Examples are a first beach experience, McDonald's meal, ice cream, pizza, BBQ, etc. This past weekend seemed like it was the end of all of the dramatic firsts. We had family in town (Penny's and mine) for a welcome home party on Saturday (read more here) and the dedication of our boys to raise them in a Godly home before our church family. Amazing weekend. we are so blessed to be surrounded by such incredible family and friends.

Starfield concert tragedy
Last night in British Columbia 40 people were injured when the floor of a church collapsed during a Starfield concert. Kinda scary huh? One thing we have going for us here in South Florida, NO BASEMENTS! I hope and pray everyone is ok. Word is there were no major injuries. Read more HERE.

We were all hanging out with family the other day when the door bell rang. It was a disoriented woman with a bloody hand and tattered shirt. My mom and I sat down with her for a minute and came to the conclusion that she was in no condition to be wandering so we call the authorities. 2 police officers came to the house, did a little investigation and the poor lady was on her way. Roman (our 4 year old) saw the police men and wanted meet one of them. He took Roman out to his police car and let him sit inside the drivers seat and then let him flash the lights and make the siren go off. Amazing.

Not a chance.
The Florida Legislature is considering a specialty plate with a design that includes a Christian cross, a stained-glass window and the words "I Believe". I will not buy this plate. Will you other Florida peeps? Why? Good answers only!

After a couple of days camping in the wild with a bunch of middle school students I have been suffering from a hangover. Headache, check. Tired, check. Irritable, check. It was all worth it though as we were able to hang out and speak into the lives of junior highers. Shown is a picture of me on the spinning swing. I almost puked. Thanks for some Pepto stashed in my back pack.

My next iPhone case....
Gotta protect the prize! I love my iPhone. It's hard to believe that I got it almost a year ago!! I'm pretty anal about protecting it and have kept it from any major dings. This new case from some company I have never heard of is sick! It's hard case that snaps on with a hard shell OVER the screen which is touch sensitive. The cost isn't to shabby either. How do you protect your iPhone?

I never dreamed being a Papa would be so amazing. I think I kiss my sons so much that my lips will be raw soon. Awesome.
Gnarls Barkley's new release is pretty good if you are into hip-hop/pop/r&b.
It's beginning to feel a lot like summer down here in So Flo. mid to high 80's in the day. I'm totally working my reddish tan!
If you call yourself a Christian you MUST listen to this message my pastor gave last week. Truly a church defining message.
Rest In Peace Charlton Heston. I still love him in the original "Planet of the Apes".
The Office returns this Thursday. I can't believe that it has been almost 5 months since the last original episode aired. Too long!
Miami Hurricanes baseball is hot, hot, hot! They are 26 wins and 2 losses. Could there be another championship run to come?
NFL Draft day is just a couple of weeks away. My Miami Dolphins have the #1 pick. Who should they take? I hope they can lure Dallas into trading their 2 first round picks for the first pick. Any thoughts?

Guitar Hero training
For all those legalists out there, don't have a heart attack! I know some are thinking "Great they have their children playing Satanic music on Guitar Hero!". Not so fast my friend! Roman wanted so bad to hold the guitar so we gave him a photo opp. As soon as he gets the whole video game thing I will have my niece Mollie introduce him to this game. Please pray for us.
